Concept

“Evanui signature” is the ViV laboratory’s flagship speaker. “Evanui” means “vanish” in Latin. Good speakers make us forget their existence. ViV laboratory’s speaker line up, “evanui series”, vanish when they play back music. To make it true, we pay most effort to convert amplifier’s electrical signal to acoustic vibration precisely as possible. And we also attach great importance to its design.

Technology

<<New FDM Driver >>

We finally reached to realize the dream of speaker engineers. Our original FDM Driver has no surround and no dumper, then the diaphragm has no mechanical contact except lead wire of voice coil. This means that the diaphragm floats mechanically (Floating Diaphragm Mechanism). This evolutional driver can play back sound with very low distortion and covers so wide frequency range that it needs neither extra woofer nor extra tweeter. This brings us additional big merit that we need no crossover network any more. Then, the FDM Driver can avoid both electrical distortion and mechanical distortion.

The 3” diaphragm of the FDM Driver is made of pure magnesium, that is very light, strong and has low resonance. The surface of the diaphragm is coated with URUSHI (JAPAN), which is Japanese traditional natural paint.

The magnetic circuit of the FDM Driver is powered to the limit with extra large neodymium magnet and pure iron parts.

For maximum rigidity, the driver is fixed to the black anodized duralumin block of over 40 lbs.

The wood cabinet works as short straight backloaded horn and is made of apitong plywood. 61 apitong boards of 18mm are piled up and cut the core out. Its surface is hand-planed and filed down to beautiful curvaceous shape with piled stripe pattern by artisan piece by piece.

As you see, enclosure has round shape and no corner at all, so you can get excellent acoustic field.
